First - a thank you for the answer to my main question -- it does indeed work on Windows 7. It's a bit slower and more primitive than its successors but is still the same game. All play about the same way.
It's amazing that some games stop working after a few years but if a game is written well, it stands the test of time! My CD has a copyright of I see no reason it would not work on Windows 8. I didn't even need compatibility mode! When you load the game it won't let it go on the computer.
The message says it needs additional program! This program did not state it needed anything else in the description. It also came late and in this case after Christmas!!! I would not use this company again.
It was a gift to my sister, she sent a note. There has been no response!! We emailed. The instructions on the back of the case were followed but the 5th step never came up.
Get this game for your pc. I may be a bit bias because I'm basically in the process of buying every Pop Cap game they make. All are simple fun. But this may be the simplest formatted game of them all. There's no "Adventure Mode. Just the simple Bejeweled game you've come to know and love. The newer games have different modes, so if you want variety, you may be better off with that one. But if you like the regular simple game of Bejeweled, then buy this game!
Fun and addictive game. My husband and I both play and will buy more Bejeweled games at different levels. Makes you plan your moves so not just a chicken pecking the keys. Not into the war and shoot the aliens type of games. Our 8 year old grandson can play it too and NO violence involved.
Have bought other Popcap games for him that he likes. I was looking for the original bejeweled i think I found. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. I enjoy this game.
